    TR-196 200 Pro XS Repower

I'm currently awaiting Delivery of my new 200 ProXS that will replace my current '07 200 Opti on my '07 SC TR-196. I'm just curious if anyone else is running this setup and if so what prop you running? I have a Fury3 25P, a reworked Tempest 26, and a brand new Tempest 25P currently. I'm running 10" setback on a Bobs hydraulic. Any tips on setup or heads up on anything between the opti and 4- Stroke ProXS are appreciated.

I would love to repower one of those with a 200 SHO and flash it to a 300 HP.

Which lower unit is coming on your engine. Standard Gear Case w/1.85 ratio or Torque Master w/1.75 ratio

I wish I could say the Torque Master, but beggars can't be choosers so I got the 1.85 as it was available.

I've seen videos of that very thing... scary fast! I'm more of a merc fan though and the yamahas cost significantly more so here I am.

So after break in and some running with a tournament load at around 100 degrees air temp this past weekend I hit 68.6 mph at ~5650 RPM. I'm running a 25p tempest I'd bought for my Opti but was a little under pitched. I'm thinking maybe a 24 Tempest will do the trick but not sure. About how many RPM should I expect to gain per pitch dropped?

200 per 1 of pitch but prop models will be different from pitch to pitch --try a 23p or 24p fury 3 need to prop for 6200 in cool air will drop in heat and humidity

Any update on finding a prop? I am doing the same repower on my 02 TR-19. Don't know if I should get a 23/24 Tempest or Fury

After some trial and error, I think I'm getting closer:

    2000 Tr-20, 2023 200 Pro XS, 8" Fixed + 2 deg, 2 pp blades, 23 Fury.

20 something hours into repower, making last motor height adjustments, and relearning how Tr likes to be driven with the 4S. Entirely different feel for the boat.

With a full load, hole shot is instant and easily to 69 at 5700. It will go a bit more if conditions permit. Motor height is sensitive, it seems to want deeper, but then prop torque/chine starts.

These #'s are showing low prop slip, but its math, and Mercury tested a Ranger to 69 mph @ 5750 rpm. Seat of the pants seems to support the math. It pulls hard, no loss of performance compared to the juiced EFI it replaced.

A 22 Fury may be ideal - have not found one to test. No tempest, but tried a 23 trophy plus, and found the fury to perform much better in all parameters.

Good info. Your pre 02 TR-20 should be similar length to my 02 TR-19. Pickup up the boat today and he put a 22 Fury on to try it. I also ordered a Tempest 23 that I will try after breaki-in. Before my ox66 got hurt, the boat would run 74-75. Hoping I get get the same or close to this with the 4S after I break it in

Any idea what your preferred prop to pad height is with the 4S?

I'll need to measure and repost to give an accurate #, along with water pressure. Its currently about 3/4" deeper than the 2S, but also giving a bit more prop torque than I like.

On the Fury, all vents are currently plugged solid. Your boat will be fast, I don't think there is much worry there.
