When is the last time you got a half dollar in your change?

My local bank ATM dispenses 50's.

Burgers a Shakes here in Lexington used to give them back as change, haven't been there win several years, don't know if they still are. Local post offices here give back dollar coins out of the stamp machines.

I have 2 in a box with some canadian and bermuda or one of the islands coins. That means within the last 22 years that I have lived with my GF. I have a half dozen 2 dollar bills also in the stash.

Buddy of mine had hundreds and some other coins. Totaled in the thousands. He run his mouth at a bar about it and eventually someone broke into his room at home and stole everything.


I almost never use coins anymore. At work we pay 50 cents for a Kcup coffee at the coffee bar. I had to use a dollar this week and when I got home to toss my 2 quarters into my change jar I had no idea who or what was on the face. Foreign now to handle change.

Let me toss this out there. When was the last time you saw a wooden nickle? I collected coins as a kid and had a few.

Same here. I had to hit the ATM night before my club tournament and it spit out a fifty. Pissed off the director. I had a whole week to get the 37 in exact bills.

Not too long ago. I always ask if they have any when getting change. Used to change them out when I worked a pizza hut years ago. Changed out several old coins that way during the years I worked there.

Not to be desparaging but one of the butchers kids works part time with us. He talks like he was Paul Lyndes from the old Laugh In shows bastard kid. Squelching to the air drums every time he calls out a number. He is as 3 dollar bill as it gets.

Received one a few weeks ago in change. But what really gets me is receiving Susan b Anthony dollars as the cashier thinks they are quarters. Woo hoo

Can't remember but I got a $2.00 bill as change at a local brewery about a year ago.....thought that was kind of unusual

Funny you ask, I’d never got one in my life until a few weeks ago down in the outer banks I got a half dollar with my change when I bought a bag of ice.
