One caveat from happy Owner. Be careful if you winter fish. Water in the bilge will freeze and the plug will be where it is, either in or out, until you thaw it.

I have one on my 2022 BassCat Cougar. It helps that my 69 year old body doesn't have to crawl under to screw in the plug.
I use Vaseline on mine. BassCat says that is fine.

You don't want petroleum based grease, but grease made for O rings. Most pool stores carry it, or get the smallest amount of Molykote O ring grease you can find online. You use so little of it a very small anout will last years.

I use Danco silicone faucet grease b/c I have it around already, but any silicone grease is fine with O-rings.

It's a God send. Seems expensive for what it is, but worth every penny.

Love mine also, but can not have it in while on the road in Wisconsin , Minnesota, and a few other states.

Molykote…This is the absolute best lube for the flowrite…it’s a little pricey, but will last forever.

This is undoubtedly the best route to go.! It’s still easily accessible inside or outside of the boat and make sure you have the cable routed with the least amount of bends and keep the bends large radius.!! I wouldn’t be without it on my boat.!

Use plumber’s grease. It’s made specifically for o-rings and doesn’t wash off easily, if at all. If it works on a faucet, it will work on the FlowRite.
