    Hole in one?

50 years of golf, thousands of rounds and I have never had one.

I played in a two man scramble with my youngest son this weekend. I told him before we played number
15 I dreamed I had a hole in one on that hole the night before. He hit first, the ball never left the pin, landed about 12” in front of the hole, somehow missed the flag on the bounce and then lipped out backing to about 8” in front of the hole. We joked maybe I had dreamed about him.

I then hit and again the ball never left the flag and hit the pin about 3 or 4 inches above the hole. Leaving a ball mark a second ball mark with in 12” of the hole.

Easy birdie and another near miss for me. He had a hole in one back when he was just 12 years old while I am 63 and have hit the hole or flag probably a dozen times without one. Maybe someday.

I’m 46 and been playing golf since I was 7. I’ve never had one.

Last week I was playing in my league and I came within a few inches. For the longest time I told myself it was just a matter of time . . . I’m starting to think it just won’t happen. And I’m ok with that.

Same here. Almost 48 and I've been playing since I was 5. I've been close several times.

been playing golf for 47 years. 1 hole in one, 1 double eagle (playing thru a 3 some), a few eagles on par 4's
from either driving the green and sinking the put or sinking the iron shot. I had a par on a long par 4 once.
Jacked teeshot OB, then hitting3, of course hit the fairway and canned the 7 iron.

Been playing for 30+ years and never had a hole in one either. A foot or two from the pin a few times. A couple of eagles: holed out on a par 4 from 150 yards and chipped in on a par 5.

I also have had an albatross. I hit a one iron in from 240 back in my younger days. Although the fact that I hit a one iron probably already dated it as long ago.

I've had two. First was in the fall of '98 and the second was in the spring of '99. I was starting to think they were not that hard or rare. Damn, 24 years later and still looking for number three.

I once saw three in three days. The third my buddy and I are standing and he says that’s a sucker pin placement, middle of the green for me. He proceeded to pull it left dead in the hole. My response was “That would have been impressive, if you hadn’t opened you mouth”.

I have played off and on for 40 years. Never had a hole in one but have come within inches a few times. I had an eagle on a par 4 once from about 130 yards out. That was pretty cool as it was in a tournament.

    I have never had one.

    I have a friend that has 7-8.
He always updates his vanity license plate every year with his current number.

He was never a long hitter, but hit the ball very straight.

That means the ball was headed straight at the pin the whole time.
