Any rules to protect from this?
Yes there is a rule against it. You can not go after the same fish but once a day.

I know there is a rule but they're not enforcing it at all......and one guy will catch one fish off the bed and then a buddy will come and catch it again multiple days in a row. Bout as retarded and unsportsmanlike as it gets......but anybody cares about is keith poche jumping over things in a tin boat.

There is not a rule that says someone else can't catch the same fish. There is a rule that is enforced that a fisherman can't catch the same fish more than once on the same day. Would you have them put a flag on a bed to notify others that this fish has already been caught?

Didn't watch today but in the first 4 days you see the same house in the background and same rock pile and every one of them say "He only has one eye"

This will never be anything more than a TV show

Other people have attempted and have caught them same fish before mlf arrived and will attempt and will catch them same fish after mlf is gone.

Anglers aren't allowed to talk to each other about fishing specifics during the event. So it's against the rules to say "hey, go down to that dock, there's a rockpile out in front of it that has a 6# fish on a bed with one eye.

Easily solved if they had a weigh in at the end like a real tournament.

they all know what they’re doing. You see the same guys going down the same banks day after day catching fish in the same exact location. One of them even admitted the he and Omari had caught the same fish off the same bed multiple times this week. It’s something that would not happen in a normal tournament scenario but……thankfully New York has laws against having tournaments and hauling fish off beds and all over the place. That is let if the reason that place and so many fisheries in the northern states are so good. But to say it’s ethical or sportsman like to go and keep catching the same fish off the same beds several days in a row to add to your weight is just pathetic imo. Almost as pathetic and yanking them off beds and hauling them around for a hero picture at the end of the day

It kinda of cheesy, but with the format the way it is what you gonna do?? I mean if a 5 pounder is just sitting there you gotta throw at it.

I believe they changed that rule to where they can talk to each other. Wheeler and Avena room together too

Ask Wheeler if this rule apply’s to him cause I’m sure it doesn’t and wouldn’t take a polygraph

And the boys on the other side don't do the exact same thing during the southern swings. There is money involved and this is business. Both organizations would pitch into the Popes pool if they felt the winning fish was there. The biggest difference is the dog and pony show weigh ins. Personally I like to CWR format. The only exception the final day at the classic IMO.

Shuffield in the same place pulled the fish up and says "Blind in one eye"

This same fish has been caught at least 6 or 7 times

I think you are missing the concept of mlf. You catch, weigh, release. How many times have you caught a fish with a hook in it or a ripped lip… a bunch. At least you can still catch those fish. How many times have you gone to weigh in and seen people throwing fish back after a tournament and the fish floats up? Especially in the summer. The idea is to keep healthier fish. Hauling those big ones around in the livewell in the summer is as stressful on a fish as it gets. I don’t have the data to back it up but I would think u can catch and release a fish 3 times in the same day and it’s going to be better off than catching once and driving it around all day and then releasing it in a random spot 8 miles up stream after tournament ends.

Pretty much spot on, but just to add how ridiculously easy it is to catch a SM off a bed in clear water. It takes almost zero skill. Some of these fish are so tired they are barely able to fight anymore.
