    Long standing world record ? How about state ? ...

    How old is your state's LMB record ? New Jersey's was set in 1980 with a 10 lb 14 oz specimen so there's 43 years there .... what about yours ?

    LMB = 31 years (1992) - 18.15#

    Smallmouth & spotted bass state records are even older:

    Smallmouth - 7lbs 15oz in 1987
    Spot - 8lbs 2oz in 1975

    Indiana: 1991 a 14 lb. 12 oz. in a small, unknown lake close to the Ohio River. It was caught by a woman.

    The present state record for largemouth bass weighed 17.27 pounds and was caught by Billy O’Berry in Polk County in 1986. Although that record has stood over 30 years, recent submissions of giant 15- and 16-pound bass to FWC’s TrophyCatch citizen-science program has anglers and biologists alike asking when the next state record will show up.

    13 lb 14 oz Marvin Bushong 1961 Bull Shoals Lake.
    7 lb 2 oz Kevin Clingan December 1994 Stockton Lake. He caught it on a homemade blade bait he cut out of embossed aluminum from an old storm door. Kevin had an 8 lb large mouth the same day. He was a deep water fisherman and deadly with his homemade blade bait and was really a pretty good all around fisherman.

    I’ve read his story. From what I remember it was a fairly shitty day he was fishing

    Several portions of Menantico are closed off to all activities from now until September 4 because of out of control ATV use, partying and general ******* behavior. Four other WMA's in the state are shut down as well due to illegal activities

    The record largemouth was caught in a private pond east of Minerva along route 30. The property was later donated to the Boy Scouts and a buddy was on the Boy Scout counsel, so I got to fish it with him several times. The property was then transformed into a Boy Scout camp and the pond was expanded into a large lake for the camp.
