    Tips/Tricks to remove Hamby/KeelGuard

Fellas I’ve lost about half of my Keelguard. I want to replace it. Any tips on getting the old one off and removing all that glue and residue??? How “clean” do you need to get it??

I would think a heat gun would work. Then use Goof Off to remove the glue

That glue can be real pain to remove. I had good results with acetone, just make sure you have good ventilation. To finish the job, I also used a rubber wheel (use it with a drill) which I bought at an auto parts store. I think they're used to remove pin striping on vehicles.

    Bottle of acetone.
    Couple bags of rags.
    Lots of elbow grease.
Just did mine couple months ago. Was not fun.

Linex dealer will clean it off before he sprays your new keelguard…..lifetime warranty….just my opinion.

I’ve considered that, but I heard some sketchy reviews on how well they work. Interested in anyone has done it.

Love mine. 3/8” thick, Durable, smoothish finish (unlike my truck bed) & it does not fade or stain.
