    Livescope screen goes fuzzy

It started this a while back and would only do it briefly. Now it’s really bad and almost to the point of not useable. The screen will be clear then fuzzy flashes will start. Basically it looks like I turned the gain up to 100%. My question is it the black box or the transducer? The head unit is a new 8616 and this is the second unit it’s done it to.

What is battery and voltage reading on the unit?
Stock wiring to unit and black box or new adequately sized wiring straight to battery?

    16v lithium battery.
black box has its own 10 ga wiring and the unit also.
The black box and transducer lvs32 are both several years old.

Mine did the exact same thing and I found some small corrosion on the pins at the black box where the livescope transducer plugs in. I sprayed some battery post cleaning stuff on it and washed out with water, dried everything with a blow dryer and got back to working.

    Hope this helps

I'd suggest using ActiveCaptain on your phone to capture a video of this. If you end up having to go to Garmin support, that will be valuable. It would also help us understand exactly what you are seeing.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

I have had that happen also, screen gets huge pixels, like 1/4 of the resolution. I just rebooted the black box and it would come back on normal.

I’ve tried that many times and it will only work for a few minutes. When it happens you can’t see anything on the screen.

I went out this weekend and it didn’t do it. The only change I’ve made is I moved the power wires away from my power steering pump. Curious if I was getting interference from the pump or it just happened to not do it this time. My picture didn’t seem as clear as normal and seemed darker.

I’ve been fishing livescope for years and I know what spring pollen looks like. Plus our pollen and spawn has been over for a month now. I’ve been having this issue since January during the Brandon belt tournament. It will do it again and I’ll do a video on active captain
