    Motor replacement

I have a 2016 to 225 mercury pro XS 2Stroke. Was wanting to go to a 4stroke it’s on a Ranger Z519 my questions are is there still a motor shortage? And has anybody had this done what kind of Cost am I looking at? Would anybody recommend a shop to call? I don’t mind traveling 8-9 hrs or so. I know there’s a lot of variables but just trying to get fillers. Thanks.

There is still a shortage. Check the Mercury 4-stroke forum for information. My opinion is that your best bet is to buy from the dealer closest to you with the best service.

I thinks Sherm’s Marine had one 225 in stock, if it hasn’t already sold!

No first-hand experience, but I have heard good repower reports about Bunch Marine in Harriman, TN. I am a very satisfied new boat customer.

I repowered my Skeeter (2012 SHO) with a 250 HP Yamaha SHO in 2020 for 10K difference. If you can find a buyer and let the dealer do the swapping, it is easier.

My new Mercury 225 Pro XS 4-stroke is being hung on the back of my Triton this week, by none other than the master, Don Weed, at European Marine, LLC in Greenville, South Carolina. This is my second engine through European Marine, LLC and can't wait to get it on the water. I put a deposit down in March 2022 and had a 56-week wait. Don let me know when my engine arrived last week that the wait is still a year-plus.

Nope, they can't get them either, waiting like everyone else.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it. I have a platinum warranty until 2025. The motor has about 280 hours on it. Just interested in the 4 stroke .

Just me. But know way I could spend a bunch of money on a new motor. When the one I have runs great.
