    Ultrex Trolling Motor Cable Jacket

My trolling motor cable has gotten really stiff. Can I cut the cable jacket and replace it with a neoprene style. What are your recommendations.

I have the T-H Marine neoprene jacket on my Ultrex to keep all my cables in place but still have the factory cover also. The jacket does fit nice.

No problem -- cut that stiff sucker off.

Run a youtube video of Nancy Pelosi in front of your trolling motor. That jacket should stay limp for months...

TH marine cable jackets are way to expensive and they fade fast ! BPS sells a cheaper one and if you go on Amazon ? I found one for less than $10 !

I just cut the jacket off mine last week and put a cover on it from Amazon for $20. It's plenty long and can be cut to length. It's a lot more flexible now.

Did that about a year ago on mine. Left enough on both ends to protect the wires and removed the plastic in the middle. No issues.

I bought this one a couple of years ago and works good. 10 feet long so enough for 2 trolling motors for the same price as the ones labeled for trolling motors.

I did the same thing to keep my wire protected.

Great idea. I would have never thought of that.

I got mine from WireCare.com, thicker (but still flexible) than the TH troll jacket and it won't fade to purple after a few months. You need the 2" × 5' for anyone who's interested.

Also have the Wirecraft, much better solution than the TH Marine and similar branded Neoprene covers.

This is what I did too. At first I had all my transducer and M-360 cables run together but got interference. Took the cables out and wrapped them in a different type of wrap similar to what we now use for rod covers. It didn't help. Yes, the TM cable is much easier to get along with now.
    Don't worry Ma'am....

I cut mine off and tape it with pvc tape its like electrical tape but 2 inches wide and leaves no residue. I taped it looser where I need it to be more flexible for how I stow it and deploy it without ever having to mess w it.
