Center Tackle Storage and Back Boxes

I have an 05 TR20X and absolutely despise the molded inserts in the center boxes and back compartments for tackle trays since a lot of the boxes I use are double deeps so they don't fit into those pre-molded dividers. I've been turning my boxes sideways to get around this but wanted to see if anyone has modified their storage boxes at all? I figure it's a longshot but wanted to pose the question!

    Thanks!

I just switched most of my tackle to the type that fit. Those that don't fit get laid down. In the back, I don't use the dividers, just lay them across the bottom. It takes a bit of digging but I don't typically get into the back compartments as often. I do like being able to see each box in its own slot at the front. Much easier to grab the box I need.

Assuming yours is similar to my box I turn my 3700 boxes the other direction and stand on the end. With this setup you can use various thickness 3700 size boxes Hard to see but there is a 1/8” plexiglass plate between the rows to help smooth box removal and return. The thin 3700 on the left side (inserted on edge like the holders are designed) keeps the boxes in place. That leaves a fair amount of room on the far left for soft plastics bags. Oh, one last think I did recently is grind smooth the little ridges on the top and bottom that some boxes have. Makes it easier to pull and replace a box.
