Looks like out of a forklift to me. Let me see rest of bellhousing please . Opening visible on bellhousing looks to be for a gear driven pump.

China import tractor, it will be a machine with a name that will not slide off a southern tounge. A brand that is made to sell and not use or to get parts in years to come.

Chad beat me, but like he said, a name we cannot pronounce.

Isn't there an import tractor -- Yanmar-- that uses the Y480D engine?

My searches on the serial on block that came back with anything Yanmar did not include a 4 cylinder engine & did not look like pictured engine. If you blow up the picture it sure looks to me like sparkplug holes underneath the manifold runners but not sure.

Now I see the Chinese? decal pointing to the holes under the manifold for spark plugs or injectors. Looks like it has been preserved. has alternator (post '60's). O H V.

I'm pretty sure that's the same Chinese outfit that makes the "Chonda" knock-off Honda gasoline engines found on generators etc.
    Ranting incoherently

Google image search keeps thinking it is a Willy's Jeep motor but they are not perfect matches. Where did it come from? Any kind of military folks have anything to do with where you got it?

A stationary generator or pump would be my next guesses as well.
