Lithium battery question for my setup

I will be running at bow - 2 hummingbird helix 10” and mega 360. At console running a hummingbird 10” and 8”. I do run a X2 AGM starting battery. I have 2 group 31 regular interstate trolling batteries. Give me some ideas please thank you

If you are talking about adding an extra "house" battery, you could do a 100ah and run all your electronics including the m360 off that. Or go 50ah with a smaller footprint, install it in your front most box and run just your bow electronics off it. Of course you'll also have to consider moving to a charger with an additional bank and or with lithium capabilities.

I have Ionics and love them.

Get with Andy/Drewcraft here on BBC, best customer service hands down...

I have two 125ah parallel for cranking and electronics and three 100ah for the Ultrex, zero issues with power. My Apex units draw a ton of juice, you could probably get away with one 125ah and be good with the Helix units.

Jesus do you not like to charge batteries but once a month. That seems like supreme overkill, and money down the drain. 3 100ah for a trolling motor?

I can go almost 2 full days, I spend a ton of time with the trolling motor down.

Like I said, the Apex units pull more amps vs Solix (2.8amp Solix vs 4.4amp Apex)

I'd much rather have more power than needed vs not enough...

I dont see 3 100a for the trolling motor as overkill. I have 3 50's and usually they are at 50-60% at the end of the day but I have been in a few tournaments where I fished open water all day in high winds and ran them down to around 30%. If I was in a 2 day tournament and on the road with no where to charge I would have been dead in the water.

Solix and Apex are power hungry monsters Helix not as much

    I run 2 Solix’s 12" & 10” I also run 2 Garmins 10” & 9” with Livescope
I use just one Ionic 125ah for the cranking, graphs and all pumps and accessories
I have an Ultrex 36v on a 21 foot Skeeter and have 3 Ionic 50ah powering it

I can go 2 tournament days or 3 practice days without having to charge them

So the X2 I’m currently running is that enough to power my 4 helix and mega 360. My front graph shuts off sometimes when I start the big motor and move. I put in standby mode but after the move I notice graph turns off?

Probably not big enough to power the boat much more than 8-10 hours. You can swap to lithium and it will get you more run time or you can add a 2nd x2 in parallel to double your reserve capacity and give you 200ah. But the graph turning off could also be your wiring. You should have dedicated 10 gauge wire to each of your helix units to ensure you don’t have a voltage drop. When the motor cranks it drops voltage as current increases to crank the motor for that 1-2 seconds of time. When the current spikes and voltage drops that graph that shuts off is dropping voltage below 10.5ish volts and cuts off. After the motor is started up the voltage comes back up to 12-13v and now you have sufficient voltage for your graph to turn back on again. A 10 gauge wire from the battery to the graph ensures you don’t get that massive voltage drop when cranking the motor. That’s why you see guys going to the sonar pros harness or sea clear power harness or making their own wire harness for their units.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have a 80lb ultrex on a 18.5 Stratos and for my style of fishing in open water searching on livescope running on 8 to 10 I believe I'm going to go with 2 100ah. Some say 2 50ah is plenty but then again I'd hate to be cut short on the water to save some money.

That's what I would do. I run 125 for cranking and electronics and 3 100AH trolling. I've had days where 50Ah trolling would've died, and I've had days where the 125 cranker wouldn't make it two days without charging during a tournament (running recircs on constant drains batteries)

Talk to Andy at Drewcraft who is sponsor on is BBC, he helped me a lot and was spot on for my fishing. I have a CX 20, run 3 of the 50 ah (Ghost) and have never run them down below 80%, that's on a 9-hour day crappie fishing with a little wind on Ky Lake. I also have a 125 ah for three HDS 12 live and a Garmin 106 sv Live Scope. I have run the 125 down to 53% in 9 hours fishing with all four units running. Drewcaft has one 125 and 3 of the 50 ah on sale for 1700.00 which is a good price. If you fish in constant current like on a river i would probably consider the 100ah trolling batteries.
