Boat crash at Wheeler Lake this AM

Read in Facebook from a customer that a bass boat and catfish boat collided this morning on Wheeler. No details on the bass boat guys but one of the cat fishermen was hit directly by the bass boat and into the water. They’ve made it back to shore but that’s all I know

There were fog warnings in the river valley this morning. I would expect the fog to be at it's worst on the river this morning. First cold snap of the year and the water is still warm makes it worse.

Dang hope everyone is ok. Running very fast in the fog is very dangerous.

Seen it firsthand The guys in the bass boat were OK they actually help the guy in the catfish boat he was thrown out broke his pelvis and his leg but they said he will be OK there was whitecaps on the water the catfish boat had just left the ramp area and hit a few big waves something on the front of his boat came loose a cooler etc. he sat down the wind turn the catfish boat around and pushed him in the other direction the bass boat came out of the channel and was trying to get up on plane and ran over top of the catfish boat the bass boat was completely out of water it was not foggy out it was clear it was truly a bad accident . did not look like much damage to the bass boat the catfish boat was damage pretty good I have pictures of it if somebody wants to send me a cell number I will send you the picture so you can post.

I know with some of these great big screens some guys are running above the drivers windshield. It has to b hard to see over them.

Was fishing one of the islands at kissimmee or Toho one year and a boat came flying past us and up into woods on the island. It was horribly foggy out. Hope the peope involved are ok.

Not saying that is the cause here but it is not hard to deduce that they are going to cause accidents and probably death one day. I do not blame the tools though I would blame the idiots not recognizing their unsafe acts.

Gonna be a lot of backlash to come over this. Guy is in ICU according to one of my customers. MLF kept sending boats causing more wakes during the recovery process also.

The Continual Fascination with Faster Boats and the constant need for Bigger Screens is not a good combination.

I've never felt very safe during blast offs. Too many boats in too big a hurry in too rough of water.

    Hoping for a full recovery.
