Has anyone used or familiar with the CDS on their scopes.
I'm looking at a VX-Freedom 4-12x50 CDS. $400

They are spot on. I have one on my 243.
As long as you give them good information on your load, should be good to go. Don’t go by what the box shows or what you see on the internet. Chrono the load out of your rifle.

I bought one on accident without knowing what the acronym meant. I do not like how the elevation and windage have a different feel and presumed rate of adjustment on them. I was able to get it zeroed though and it works fine.
I have not have very good luck with Leupolds lately. Two complete internal failures in my older ones and my latest was broken out of the box. All failures were that they would not hold a consistent zero. In all cases they were returned for repair. In two of the three cases, they failed again with 30 rounds. The third is sitting on my shelf. I do not shoot big kickers either…a 7mm-08 and a 338 Fed. I have switched to Swarovski, Meopta and Zeiss.

WOW - interesting info. I'm not a big long distance gun guy so want it as simple as possible. I fig the CDS and the bullet box info is what would be. But they have different wheels for calibers and weights so seems one would 1000% need to shoot at the long distance to verify. In thinking 450 MAX.
