Just knew this was coming after the EV credit was expanded

    https://www.reuters.com/business/aut...es-2022-10-05/

Ford raised the price from $6K-$8500 in August of this year and is raising it another $5K for next model year. Others following suit. Not an EV hater, just knew it was coming and think it's funny how quickly it happened.

In 2021 the Feds took in 4.05 Trillion in taxes minus 400 billion in interest. With the rates we are seeing the interest alone is gulping down our tax base. The latest estimate I’ve heard is another two trillion in debt over the next two years because 4 trillion is not enough tax base. The EV mess is just starting what’s going to be an expensive time via inflation.

If the intended result is to get everyone in an EV, they need to start making inexpensive EV's. That's one of the problems with govt. subsidies, it encourages manufacturers to raise prices as they see the subsidy offsetting the price.

Amazing how many people can't, or won't, use the common sense that God gave them and see through the damage caused when the federal gov't implements these ridiculous actions. Apparently they believe the cheer leading from the media and those pushing the agenda now. There are no free rides without it eventually costing somebody, usually in the form of taxes or higher prices to the middle class. Most of the rich don't care because they have plenty of money. Most of the deadbeats don't care because they get most of their stuff free. I am happy to pay my fair share for the best interest of society, but I'm sick and tired of paying for everything and everyone who won't take responsibility for themselves. Sure seems like a lot of things that resemble socialism happening these days. People better wake up.

Spot on. If those people took the time to visit the low and free housing unit areas of every single large city they would find those people can't afford a 10000 dollar car let alone a thirty thousand dollar one. Those areas residents are driving 2 thousand to 8 thousand dollar cars from buy her pay here places because even though they are on Government assistance they can't afford 30000 dollar cars plus they don't have the credit qualifications. You don't see too many new Escalades in the hood around here contrary to popular belief and you damn sure won't find an EV there either.

But did the Fed government push those horseless carriages onto the people. With sky high feed prices?

You mean to say that those that don't have expendable income won't be the ones that are early adopters of new technology or purchase the latest and greatest of things? NO WAY. I bet those poor people don't even have new MacBook Pro's, new bass boats, or their own recording studio. Peasants.

Did the federal government spend decades pouring money into the horse market before the car came along?

The prior administration passed a revision to the tax code that pretty much locked in minimum 1 trillion dollar deficits per year.

Supply and Demand sets the price......Demand is high so Ford is raising the price...It's pretty much that simple....If demand drops the price will drop..

You guys keep making this ridiculous comparison but simply can't seem to comprehend that my gas powered vehicle gets me from point A to point B just as quickly and easily as your electric powered vehicles. Automobiles provided many significant advantages to the horse and buggy, the same can't be said for EV vs ICE.

How so, a new budget is passed annually. We expect that because no one wants to give up their part of the cheese so we could lower that budget. A good start would be doing away with baseline budgets.
