Received recall notice on trim motor today-2022-18. anyone know what is involved in this? all trim motors getting replaced or just ones that have acted up or failed?

Thanks for replying, do you know if parts are in stock yet to handle the recall as needed? Or should I wait until spring

As of earlier this week there were still parts in stock in local warehouses. I would think (hope) that your dealer would be willing to verify stock to cover your needs when your appointment is scheduled.

My trim was completely replaced after just a few months. Makes me wonder if I was originally affected.

They would not know, unless your previous owner transferred the factory warranty (free) or any additional, paid for, "service contract" via paperwork (and a fee) sent to Mercury.

you need to register your motor serial number with them in case of any recalls likely

covered no matter when bought-- federal mandated likely so no out of time period allowed I did recalls on 20 yr old cars when i was wrenching for no charge to owners

Unless Mercury knows who owns the particular product, they cannot notify you. Your original owner that you purchased from likely throws that Mercury Mail in the trash because they don't own it any longer. You will have no information about recalls, warranty or otherwise unless YOU let Mercury Marine know what you own.
