    99 Ranger bilge pump

I have a 99 Ranger 519 DVS…was wondering if anyone knows if this boat has a separate float switch or is it built into the bilge pump. The pump works in manual operating it from the console switch but does not function automatically as rain H20 starts to fill up the hull. Trying to gather information before I start removing batteries to gain access to the bilge area. Thanks for any info.

The typical setup in that vintage was to have both a float switch and manual over-ride switch to one pump. The float switch was typically separate and in your case may have crapped out or may be jammed tight against something making it inoperable.

In that vintage,an auto bilge pump was an option so yours might have one. It will still have the wiring for auto bilge either way. Look at the wire harness just behind the live well and see if you have a three wire quick connect that isn’t attached to anything,if so, that will be the auto bilge wire. You can add one from that wire,if needed.
