Z521 L set up prop help

2019 Ranger Z521 L Merc 250 pro xs 4 stroke. Manual jack plate. Two power poles

Boat is new to me with only 9 hrs on engine, came with Fury 23 3 blade. I first ran boat this summer with high heat/humidity and no tackle or equipment. Hole shot was terrible with extreme bow rise, top speed was 69 at 5950 rpms. Engine was approximately 4.5 inches below pad.

I found a as new 23 Bravo 1 xs and tried it yesterday. I did raise the engine 1 inch to 3.5 below pad. I added tackle and rods. Temp was in 70’s with low humidity. Hole shot was very good when at full throttle, at 3/4 throttle bow rise was high, full throttle bow rise was average. Hole shot rpm, wot, was 4500. Prop has 4 open holes and 4 half open. Achieved 66 mph at 6200 rpm. At slower speeds , 25 ish the boat wanted to porpoise.

Looking for your thoughts on the hole shot rpm, engine height, and porpoising. The 23 Bravo might be a great summer prop, any thoughts on what pitch a winter Bravo should be? Fury 4?

    thanks for all replies

I have the same boat. I am running a 24 bravo FS. I have a great hole shot and good lift. I am running 72 by myself and 70 with a partner tournament loaded. Don’t run the fury slung blade 2 times. My jack plate is @ 2.75 below the pad.

The bravo FS only has 4. Holes and they are all open.
