    Garmin 126sv mapping

Just bought a new boat it has garmin 126sv, I had live scope on my previous boat that pretty much all i have used it for, never used the mapping fetures i had lowrance carbons on my last boat. I opted to go all garmin's when i orderd it kept my navionics chip, will this work or is it compatable with garmin? if not what map chip would I need to purchase? that will show lake contour's etc or how good is what it come's with standard will it show you where the channel is ? most lakes I fish are here in Texas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

That chip will not work, will need to get one specifically for the Garmin unit.

I also have a 126SV and the base mapping is pretty decent for my area. But I was thinking about getting the vision + card. Does anyone have images they can share of the difference between what the base map screen and the vision + screen.

Look at either the Garmin Navionics+ card or the Vision+ card, U.S. South. Compare the features here:

    and purchase here:

You can look at this online map to see the current topography offered by the new Navionics mapping. Make sure to zoom in tight enough and select Fishing Chart under Map Options to see all the details. For screenshots from the actual mapping card, you can email Garmin Cartography and request them for specific areas.

Hodges Marine is the cheapest place I found to buy the Garmin vision plus card.

Guess I’ll give the Vision + a try. Tackle Warehouse has them at 31% off right now.
