Old Honda 250X ATV Worth Anything?

I have an old Honda 250X ATV that I've been meaning to sell. A neighbor approached me about it and I'm wondering if anyone here has an opinion of what they think it would be worth. It's not in good shape at this point and hasn't been used in years. I built this when I was in high school. When I went to college it was left at my parents and they left it outside so it has seen its better day. Is it worth anything at this point? Or should I just be looking to get rid of it? Thanks.

If it starts and runs, it's worth a grand. If not maybe $500.

I am in the industry and if you could get a couple of hundred bucks for it i would say you are lucky. They were a great machine for there time, but your only audience is kids with not a lot of money for a sport machine.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the info. I’m certainly not in the know with what an ATV is worth. It was a fun build when I was younger. Haven’t used it in awhile so it’s time to sell and get what I can it sounds like.

One of my favorite quads of all time. Light and nimble in the woods. No battery to change out. Kick start and had reverse. Mine was an '87. Then had an '86 250R. Fun times.
