    A bit of a conundrum

    So what would y’all do?

I have by all accounts a pretty nice boat. 2016 Triton 18TRX with 200 pro XS. I’ve garage kept it since new and made quite a few upgrades to make it “mine”. Electronics are just how I like them. Dedicated electronics harness. Great batteries. Upgraded all plastic perko latches to stainless southco…etc. engine has 300hrs but has had a few minor issues in the past year (starter solenoid, idle issues due to plug wires, loose fuel injectors, leaking Water in Fuel Sensor) but runs perfect at the moment.

Option 1. Run it as is

Option 2. Buy 4 stroke while my engine still has value

option 3. I’m interested in a Bullet 21XRS or Phoenix 721. Sometime I think I’m just trying to keep up with the jones and this isn’t really necessary.

It is hard to do when you get the itch, but I say #1. It is how you like it.

IMO bots are durable goods that can last well over 20 years. In this market I would stick with it. Likely your engine will last if you maintain it but that is not a guarantee of course. I would hedge on the fact that it likely will last and replace it only if something catastrophic happens. Especially in the current market.

    That blue looks good btw

Doubtful you catch more fish with a new boat. Last I checked they didnt care about the brand. Just how I am I would keep it and run it. Im just the type I hate turning loose of large sums of money. Because I guarantee as soon as I do something comes up needing another large sum of money LOL Never fails.

Unless you already ordered the new 4S, I heard there was quite a wait.

I'd go with option 2 and get the motor that will push your boat for a LONG time, also because your garage isn't big enough for option 3.And you want your boat at home, not at a storage.

You only live once as far as I know... Get what you can afford and what makes you happy.... Get the Bullet!

I did this 20 years ago and am still happy.

The boat stall is 28x12’. There’s about 3’ behind the motor in my pic. Would that change your choice?

Man, I was hoping this was the least popular answer. I suck at fishing but damn I’d look cool and it’d be fun to go fast!!

If you want another boat and can financially swing it, then get it.

Nice clean rig…I’d only upgrade the motor if it blew up.

Always have the new boat and latest greatest itch to scratch but my '16 Ranger is just right where I want it.........and its paid for! The Opti only has 115 hours and should last a little longer. If you have money to burn then by all means get a new one.
