    Question Helix 9 gen4 and helix 10 gen3 won't share waypoints

I have a Helix 10 gen3 mega SI and the console and a Helix 9 gen4 mega DI at the bow, the helix 10 has no tab that say waypoint share or anything like that, the Helix 9 does. They are both connected to a ethernet box, is there something i am missing here?

    Thanks

Just a shot in the dark as I do not know if they make 10s and 9s not networkable. If so do either just say G3 or G4 and not G3N or G4N. Needs the N to be networkable. Hope this helps a bit.

    All Helix 8's, 9's, 10's, 12's, and 15's are networkable.
It's the Helix 7's that are available as networkable and not networkable.
    No Helix 5's are networkable.

So what's going on here you think? Could it be that they are not running the same or latest firmware?

Check the Network Source menu to see if both units are shown for 2D sonar and for GPS on both units.

If not the software versions are too far apart or you have a faulty Ethernet connection.

Actually i have the menu on the bow unit, but it only shows one sonar, not the console's helix 10. Could it be a faulty ethernet box?

In case you are unaware, it takes a minute or so for the units to recognize the network connection. You have to allow that time before determining if Ethernet is functioning or not.
With an Ethernet Switch involved, that has to be 12V powered.
Next is the displays need an Ethernet Adapter to connect an Ethernet cable to them.
Then there is the Ethernet cable itself that goes between the Ethernet Switch and Ethernet Adapter.
The Ethernet Switch has 5 ports, there have been some cases of a failed port and you verify that by switching the Ethernet cables to other ports.

    Summary:
You have physical connections (6 of them for each display)== Unit Ethernet port/ Ethernet Adapter connections=both ends/ Ethernet cable=both ends/Ethernet Switch connection that have to work.
    Cables that have to work.
Ethernet Switch that has to work.
The ports on the Ethernet Switch that you have cables connected to have to work.

You just have to figure out which of those doesn't.

Found the problem, the power cable of the ethernet box was loose!
