Up by Pedro Bay Alaska. He was 263 miles north of the Artic circle when he shot this one.

Nice bow hunt. I really enjoy seeing folks “getting out there” instead of driving to an elevated stand like a lot of folks around here do. I envy those that get have the opportunity to do something like that.

Amazing. How did he even begin planning this out and preparing for a self guided hunt like this? I assume he was self guided since you said DIY.

Yes, self guided. The internet! He and a friend went last year, killed a small one and learned a lot. Packed a little different for this year and had a ball. It was a 13 hour drive from the airport to the area where they hunted. They rented a rv for the hunt.

Nice story, Right after Logan killed his bull a guy came up admiring it. This guy had missed the same bull the day before and was trying to set up on him the same time my son was, but when he looked down, he saw his release had broken. So he had just sit back and watched my son shoot it. He then helped my son with the caribou. My son then gave the guy his spare release so he could keep hunting, since the guy still had three days to hunt and hadn’t brought a spare.
I was proud my son did that.

Although he was at twelve yards at one point, my son said you need to be proficient at long range for this hunt. He shot his at 67 yards and his buddy took his at 82. There isn't mush to hide behind in the tundra.

He would, if I had the legs for it. His stalk lasted 5 hours on that bull that day.
