    2023 X21 Trolling Motor

Got a 2023 on order. Going with the Ghost TM. Will a 47" shaft be long enough or should i go with a 52"? Thx

Should be fine unless you’re in big water/big waves a lot.

My X19 came with a 52” Ultrex from the factory. When it was stowed it got in the way of opening the rod locker lid and when deployed it got in the way of casting. I now have a Force 50” (comparable to a 45” Ultrex) and the length seems right and doesn’t get in the way.

I have a X21 with 52” Ultrex. Tad long. In heavy grass I can only pull up motor so high before it doesn’t fit on motor frame while stowing.

Have a 52" on my X 18 and wish I had the 47". If its rough enough to need the longer shaft I won't be on the water.

We have an 2006 X21TS. We have the Ultrex 112 45" but have had other Minn Kotaes with longer shafts they do cause problems and get in the way. The reason for the 112 is high winds and fast currents on the river.
