In the Bible the word translated Heaven is used in 3 basic senses:

1) It can refer to the Physical Heavens. The physical area from the ground upwards and extending into outer space. - Psalm 78:26, Proverbs 30:19, Isaiah 55:10

2) It can refer to the Spiritual Heavens, or Spirit Realm. The Spiritual Heavens are occupied by Jehovah God, who is "a spirit", as well as by the angelic spirit beings whom he created. - 1 Kings 8:27, John 6:38, Matthew 24:36

3) It can refer to a Symbol of a High or Exalted Position such as a ruling authority. - Isaiah 65:17, 2 Peter 3:13, Revelation 21:1

This portion of Revelation 21 tells me all I need to know: there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain;


To directly answer your questions directly - I don't know. Jesus said His Father's house has many rooms, but I do not know if these are physical or spiritual. I can make guesses, but if the problems of this world are not present (see above), I'm all in!

Revelations 21- Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God

The above is a wonderful passage granting new hope of renewal, though I would strongly recommend reading the prior chapter as well. I would like to look at these words ' for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.' and think of where else in scripture is heaven described as a physical place as the earth. In my opinion, when I look at how God created Eden and everything within it perfect as it is in Heaven; therefore, when this physical earth is replaced and the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, it will be the new habitation worthy enough as the old garden of Eden where God dwelt amount man. Rev 21: 3-Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people.
Further, in Genesis, the sky, stars, and outer space is referred as the heavens.

Very correct that Jesus did eat with the apostles and asked Thomas to put his finger into His wounds, but let us be clear that it happened here on earth on in Heaven.

Does GOD who created the heavens and the earth need an oyster to make a pearl as large as He likes???
