    Anyone with a Chevy/GMC 6.6 gasser

If anyones got a 2020 or newer Chevy/GMC 2500 with the 6.6L gasser I'd like your thoughts on it. Currently have a '20 F250 with the power stroke but thinking of going to a gasser and a GMC.

I have a 2020 Chevy 2500 2500 HD with the 6.6 gas engine and the 6 speed transmission. Towing a Basscat Pantera Classic. Don’t know it’s back there. Stopping is not a problem either. Good choice!

My local GMC dealer has 2 '23 models coming in a few weeks, a hard loaded Denali and a hard loaded AT4. Guess I'll see then.

It will be more than enough engine. Just be aware that gas engines need RPM to make torque. Diesels don’t. If you take your foot out of it when it starts screaming, it will perform poorly.

I sold my 2012 F250 diesel last year and bought a 2021 2500HD 6.6 gasser to replace it. A year in and I have zero regrets pulling a 921 ProXP. I pulled different/heavier loads with the Ford, but not any more. As said above, it will turn higher RPMs up hills and such, but no problems with power. I honestly don’t miss the diesel at all. I get 10-11mpg towing at 70-75mph. Not sure empty, I don’t drive it often without a trailer attached.

Actually pulled about 10k other day with new 23 Denali 2500 with 6.6, actually pulled amazing, no big rpm, just had to feed it, 8.8 mpg

If you tow heavy or long distances then you will be hard to replace your diesel. If it is light loads [ less than 10k] and or short distances the gas is better IMHO and yes I have both. CJ

yup, almost pulled the trigger on a ‘23 Denali AT4 last week but decided to hold off till the ‘24 comes out next spring. Will have the updated dash like the 1/2 tons too. Guess I’ll be keeping my Super Duty a while longer.

This plus cost to work on the diesel is nuts compared to a gas….got a friend with a big diesel shop and I see a lot of the repair bills.
