Question Fuel Pump Assembly - OEM part number

I'm trying to buy an OEM replacement fuel pump for my 1996 175 EFI (serial number 0G361770) but I can't find a consistent part number. Does anyone know what it is - 14360A43 or 14360A73?

    Thanks.

Thank you. What if I’m just looking to buy the pump only? That part number includes all the fuel hoses, fittings and connectors.

I rebuilt the pump and was a straight forward operation. My pump looked good, and all parts were in good condition. I replaced everything and unfortunately it didn’t solve the problem. But your feedback saved me $100 - thank you! I plan to replace the primer bulb and fuel lines this weekend. They are about 3 or 4 years old but it’s easy to replace and rule out. Thx again

I did and consistently use OEM parts. Just trying to work my way through the trouble shooting process. Thanks again.

Pump replaced, filter checked, primer bulb and fuel lines replaced. Still won't idle. May just take it out on the water and run it to get some fuel through it now and see what happens.

The next thing is the VST but that seems complicated to go through.....

Thanks. Will do. When I remove them what should I expect? Should I try starting it before removing them?

There looks to be an air valve in the vicinity of those hoses similar to the type you see on a tire. Will activating that valve tell me anything? Thanks again!!!!

LOL! okay. I won't check it without a guage. Can I buy a fuel guage at an auto parts store?

I did a broad search online and found someone who had the same issue with the exact engine and year. He went through every issue and replaced numerous things. It turned out to be the plastic elbow fitting below the pulse pump. The one that connects the hose from the crank case to the pulse pump. It sounds like it's standard plumbing fitting that can be bought at a hardware store. I will be checking this out too.

    Thanks again.

Don - I found another thread regarding AGM batteries with my motor (1996 175 EFI) where you were stating it's not compatible with my motor. I've been using an AGM battery for a long while. Could this be the issue causing my problem versus a fuel problem?

Wrong battery can cause problems with the regulators/stator, charging components, should definitely look at them and see if they look ok. You can also check voltage and resistance measurements but you will need a service manual and DVA/DVOM to check. Have you checked the reeds? Cracked reeds can cause a bad idle, also
check the exhaust tuner to make sure it’s not loose.

I'm starting a new thread because I'm pretty sure this is an electrical issue related to my AGM battery with a stator charging system. Thank you to everyone's feedback!!! This forum is great and continues to help us solve our boating issues, especially those of us that have older boats.
