    I bought a ukulele

Years ago, when I was in high school, I started playing guitar. All the cool guys played. I never got good at it but could strum enough chords to play at church for a number of years. For the last several years it has been hanging on the wall and rarely gets taken down. One of my grandsons is learning to play so I gave my guitar to him.

Being well past my cool years I bought a ukulele last week. It is a concert size Kala mahogany model. I have determined to be disciplined about learning to play and have been following some YouTube tutorials. I am actually learning to read music after 71 years. Three of my granddaughters play the piano and really know music well. They all have ukuleles, so I am looking forward to being able to play and sing with them.

    Anyone else play a uke?

Neat idea. Tried guitar several years ago, just got frustrated. I think the amount of hand and finger travel did it in for me. A uke sounds like a viable alternative, good luck!

That's really cool. Your granddaughters will love it. Great memories to be made. I'm learning guitar because my granddaughter is learning as well. When she's here we practice together and try to play songs. We laugh and it's a lot of fun. Enjoy your adventure

Seeing this reminded me of all the videos of Honoka & Azita playing their ukuleles. Very talented!

Have fun! And maybe even consider finding a local teacher for regular lessons

I played The ukulele for several years and enjoyed it especially hanging with friends and playing all the cool songs from the 1960’s. If you get bored YouTube the Ukulele orchestra of Great Britain. They are an amazing group.

I love watching their stuff. They were in town a while back, but we could not get to the show.

I have learned the following chords: C Am F G7. I can now play every doo wop song ever recorded.

Can't really tell too much about it except that it appears to be a Fender.

Throw a D in there and you are officially a jazz player!

I'm picturing hot Hawaiian girls in grass skirts playing the uke. However, that would not be a good look for the OP!
