    Rubberized Paint for Boat interior?

Has any body tried to paint the interior of their boat with Rubberized Non-Skid Paint?

My rig came without carpeting. It is their dark Camo Color. Too frick'n hot in the summer. I sprayed painted a Light Tan Color truck liner over the deck. But that caused a lot of rash on my reels. Regular Enamel paint is too slick.

Investigating in an Aqua Marine Deck, Sea-Deck, or painting it with a Rubberized Paint?

I had my Vexus built with the white polyurea spray in liner and have not had a problem with reel rash but I don’t fish large/rough bodies of water.

If you happy with the tan truck bed liner I’d just get some pads from the Pro Control folks and stick them down where you set your reels on the deck.

I’ve got hydroturf on the front deck of my Jon boat and it’s great

I had a Javelin a few years ago that needed the carpet replaced. So I removed the carpet and put down Durabak rubberized paint. That stuff was great I got the one with little bits of rubber in it to help with traction. It did everything it was supposed to, my only complaint was it was a little rough on my knees if I was lipping a fish. I started carrying a towel for when I had to get down on my knee in the boat. It was easy to apply and clean. It still looked good when I sold the boat a few years later.

Did you have to use a primer?
Did you have to keep stirring to keep the "Rubber Bits" suspended?
    Thanks!

I like what I have seen in the Sea-Deck, and similar products but im not sure how it would adhere to a textured surface...

I am leaning toward the "Paint application" as I have not found a company that has my boat already "in the system.
There is a Dealer about 100 mile away, but the have not responded to my inquiry. They scan you boat, then digitize the information to cut the pads.

Bob, No I just wiped the deck with acetone and painted it straight to the fiberglass. I also didn't have a problem with the mixing to keep the rubber particles suspended. It tells you on the website what type of paint roller to use.

I think I would have to scuff my existing paint first, then wipe it down, before applying the coating.

Just got a reply from the company that does Dekit. I asked for a very rough estimate and they stated somewhere around $3600.

Hydroturf is great for aluminum boats. Buy with the 3m backing and also use the 3m adhesive it holds up like nothing I've seen yet.

Painted the deck with Durabak-18 Smooth. Rather expensive, but so far it looks great.

That looks good. Did the floor of my duck boat with Durabak a few years ago and love it.

Ranger makes that "Rawhide" interior in a light grey.

Perhaps contact them and see what they advise to refinish yours?

My boat came with that dark camo. When I was in the market, this was the only Ranger I found with NO Carpeting and an Aluminum Trailer.

No, just some on found on Amazon. I'll see how they hold up. If they don't, I'll just repaint those area with Paint with anti-slip material (sand).

IF those are the Amazon EVA foam pads, I have had them in my Tracker for the last two years and they have held up surprisingly well.

Glad to read that. I just added one more section to the Step / Box Cover.
