How's the TacMag weight wise ? I've been thinking about this as a heavier tube rod in deep water and a paddle tail swimbait in the 3.85 to 4.25 inch size on a 3/8 ounce jig head. If the action on that rod is as parabolic as say the drop shot in the finesse rod, I would think it would excel at all of those techniques. Just heard that it's a big heavy stick??

The TAC MAG is a beast of a rod. I use it mostly for 3/8 - 1/2 ounce tubes. It can throw a 1/4 ounce tube/swimbait without any issue too. It balances well with a 4000 size reel. The handle is thick too, just so you know.

Well I bit the bullet and bought a lightly used Finesse spinning rod from a member here. Should be here next week, now for a reel. I’m a Daiwa guy…maybe another Kage MQ? Thoughts?
