    Boarding Ladder Question

Last month I went to Lake Mohave for a week of fishing and of course it was HOT, and the fishing was great. I decided to cool off in the lake when things got warm.
Im getting up in age, (but still got it) but not so much trying to re-board. I was in shallow water 3 feet to keep everything was safe.
It not east climbing back into my 2021 Tracker PRO 175. I tried using the electric trim as a step but that does not work. Had to use muscles to press up and lay on the back of the boat.
Got tore-up a bit. so the next try I pull closer to shore and that was okay even my wife could get in. I have looked on all the posts and and Images in google and have only found the JIF emergency style boarding ladder that bolts to the Engine. My experience at the lake for a week is telling my those are still not going to be easy no place to grab-on. My question is has anyone with a Tracker Pro put a swim step on the back where the ladder folds down? and if so send my a link Thanks

One of the very first things I did to my boat. It's not a sexy set up and was pretty inexpensive. I use an orange Velcro strap instead of the bungee cord nowadays, so It's easier to deploy. It's VERY easy to get back in the boat vs using the lower unit, trim, etc. It's already saved my butt once and it'll almost assuredly save me again.

A ladder is certainly a good idea. If you don't have a ladder tie a rope from a bow cleat to a stern cleat. Adjust the length of the rope so you can use it as a step to get back in the boat.

I don't have a ladder. I don't usually get out of my boat to recreate (although it would be nice on a hot day) I keep a rope tied like that just incase I fall in and have trouble re boarding.

We do this when we are out on the sail boat and it works.

Glad to see that ladder on your Tracker, now I have a good idea how it will work. Was looking at one that has a platform and a grab handle.
Everyone should practice getting in their boat at least once incase they fall in just to prove it possible.

I've used the Twist Step on 2 different hulls. It attaches to the motor bolts on the transom and works like a champ.

I installed this one on my tracker within the first month of ownership. Easy to deploy. I through bolted it. If I were to do it again I would use rivnuts. There's not much room for your hand under there to apply the nuts on the bolts.

Can you take a picture of this one in the down position. It looks like it would be slanted from that picture. I do like that ladder though

It's the same ladder as mine, or very close. They're just mounted differently, mine closer to the center line, etc

Also, it's very stable when extended and in the water.

I haven't used it in the water but did test it out with the boat on the trailer. Very sturdy. I think it's rated for 350 pounds. It does deploy at a bit of an angle but doesn't present any problem in climbing into the boat. When deployed the bottom rung is about 2+ feet below the bottom of the boat so no problem getting a foothold.

I made a ladder out of 3/4” schedule 40 pvc and keep it within reach from the water (tied to a rear cleat) on the back deck in case i fall my stupid a** out of the boat. I fish solo 90% of the time. 5’9” @ 210 lbs. 69 years. It is made to fit on the stern. Works great for me. 2002 ProTeam 185.

Note: I also made a 2nd ladder with 1” pvc that is wider and longer. It is used for the side of boat for the grand kids to get in with no trouble. It a little bulky on deck but works great.

Great idea never thought about using PVC. I have a Pro 75 TXW so my Transom is a lot smaller
    Ladder looks great
