On a carbon 12 how do you set up a gps cord someone sends you?

Press the waypoint button, select the area with the coordinates, for the current position and change the numbers to the new position. Hit save. You have to make sure the formats are exactly the same. There are at least three different formats but you can change your HDS to any of the formats in the Settings menu
