Going to be there on labor day weekend. Looking for any lakes (within a 2 hr drive) in the area with possibly a boat rental or a Guide recommendation. Thanks for ya'lls input.

The Alabama River has good fishing. Mitchell Lake can be good.

Mitchell has been awful this summer. I'd fish the AL river or Jordan.

AL river is right at Montgomery, Jordan is next thing close. Both have really good spots. But its tough that time of year with the heat and usually less water flow. Mitchell is next lake above Jordan and is only one i can give guide advice on. If any water at all is flowing you can catch some good spots that time of year. Let me see if I can get a link to a a guide for mitchell…
