    Backup Lights

Has anyone used the Southern Lite LED backup lights.
These can be mounted on top of the fender step so that you don't have drill into the frame.
I still a little unsure of wiring; although I think I could figure it out.
I don't have backup lights now, nor do I have brakes on my trailer.

I added these to my trailer and just wired them in with my back-up lights. You would need to run a wire to your trailer plug. You'd need at least a 5-pin to add in back-up lights if you don't already have them.

Most trailers are OEM equipped with "reverse" lamps. Not actual backup lights. You can't see directly behind the trailer so lighting that area serves no purpose for the person doing the backing. Backup lights on a boat trailer need to cast visible light a couple feet to both sides of the trailer.

The Ranger round lights were just backup "marker" lights. You could never see anything backing up with them as they shine down and directly in back of the trailer.

Now I can see a few feet on each side of the rig. Been on there for 2 years now and no issues.

Rigid ignite backup lights are the best light I've ever used. Small, bright and reliable.

I have these also. I love them nice and bright and no other lights to mount.
