I have a friend getting rid of some poles just wanted an opinion on if you think it would damage the transom.

Yes mounted to jackplate
is the transom solid? likely has wood in it but does it sound solid when tapped on?

Yeah I have had the boat two years. I can try and force the motor down and I don't see an flex. I also don't want to cause any u do strss. It shows they will add about 60-80 lbs of weight.
Don't Do it

I would not add them. Too much weight on the transom. When coming off plane with lead batteries the back wash will be bad on the rear deck.
