    Motor supports/Transom savers

I’m sure most have discussed this many times. When I bought my CX19 225 mercury the dealer had the motor sticks on it. I’ve never used these before. The sticks are easy to use and stow easy n the battery compartment The stratous I had, had a transom saver that set on the roller and back to the motor. Very ridged to me. I’ve read and search the site folks say a lot of pressure is put on the transom while running in the water.?.???? Some love-em some don’t hate-em but don’t use em. I would think if a boat mfg had trouble with the transom this would be standard equipment????
I go over a few bridges on Highway 72 that will rattle the boat pretty good. I’m looking at getting one.

Is the motor support a personal preference?
Why do you use one? Or not use one?
What do the boat mfg’s recommended?

I am a motormate guy and believe it is better. In reality both work. Pick the one you prefer and use it. Do not give it another thought.

This is the one I use. I didn't like the idea of keeping up with steering locks. It works great! Tote-Rite STR8 (toterite.com)
