    Question what to look for in a 2013 mercury 4 stroke

    i am going to look at boat that has a 2013 60 hp four stroke mercury motor is this a good trouble-free motor

    Try posting in the 4 stroke section, to get any specifics you would need the engine serial number as well - Mercury - 4 Stroke / Verado

    Good starting point would be to obtain and provide the engine's serial number. And as with ANYTHING used, be sure to have it checked out, including (at least):

    -Compression or Leakdown Test
    -Diagnostic System Printouts
    -Gearcase Check
    -Maintenance History (and current needs) review
    -Of course- a test-run on the water to confirm proper operation
