I'm with you. MY job requires me to talk to a lot of people and I can do that without a problem. However, any situation outside of work and my preference is quiet solitude.

You didn't specify if there was going to be alcohol involved.

I will speak to everyone at times. Unlike some on here, I don't assume people are dumb but how they answer will depend on if I pursue a conversation.

I once made a living speaking. I had throat cancer almost 20 years ago and today my speech is really strained so I choose my words carefully. I wouldn't say that I avoid speaking but I defiantly don't say much.

Introvert here - wife an extrovert. I will engage when I find the rare
individual that receives as well as transmits.

Not so much a talker... more of a cunning linguist.

I can talk but I also try hard to listen as I have gotten older. My tournament fishing has really improved since I have learned to talk less. Noticed a few years back that my best results always came when I had someone I didn't like in the back of my boat. Realized that I was chatting too much and losing focus. Now I chat it up at the ramp and during practice but try to focus on tournament day.

worked in sales for a long time and could talk to pretty much anyone. still do nothing i enjoy more then striking up conversations with strangers while traveling or waiting in line at the grocery store. you learn a lot from talking with random people.

It's the opposite for us. I'm the blabber mouth and she is the quiet one.
