Leaf Spring Rebound Clamp/Clip--Necessary

Just found one of my Ranger trailer broken (I suspect it had something to do with a jackstand moving a bit while replacing a tire.)

I sure don't want to get a whole new spring stack. Is there a reasonable replacement method? Is it something to worry about?

Just do a search all kinds out there. Also good info on why they are there.

Replaced it with a square u-bolt and was able to reinstall the rubber lining. Tightened it just enough to bite but still allow some slight movement.
