How is your fuel hose routed from your hull into your motor?

My Triton has a single rigging hole where the motor wiring harness, the fuel hose and the two hydraulic power steering hoses are all routed through. The motor has a single rigging hole and it has the wiring harness and the fuel line that enters the motor cowl area thru this rigging hole.

I’ve always kept my fuel hose and wiring harness zipped up in one of those rigging cloth covers. Thing is, I can’t fully zip it up on the hull end because I have to route the two power steering hoses out of the harness cover to the steering system.

how are boats typically rigged nowadays? I seem to see lots of newer boats with that slick corrugated tubing that runs the wiring harness cleanly from the hull to the motor and it’s completely protected inside of that tubing. How are newer boats routing their fuel line and bulb? How about the power steering hoses?

from day one I always felt like mine has looked like a mess.

My boat, a 2002 Bay boat has the hydraulic steering lines rigged separately, coming into the splash well from separate holes in the hull. Don’t see how they should be in the same hole as the rigging tube.

Did you buy the boat new or used. Most motors come with the solid rigging tube, mine did but it eventually cracked and I put on one of the zippered cloth tubes. The main reason is because to put on a new solid tube you have to remove all the rigging from the motor, and then re-install. This includes the steering, throttle, oil line, fuel line, and oil tank pressure line and gauge/ignition harness. Much easier to zip a tube over it.

I bought mine new. Dealer experience was absolutely awful though-put an aluminum prop on it that was the wrong pitch and yes rigged it like that. I was a very inexperienced boat buyer at the time and that’s just not something I would have thought about. Dealer stopped selling Tritons within a year of me buying my boat.

I have looked at other pictures of that boat and they all have the cloth tube. Might ask on the Triton sub forum here, maybe they help you more.

Mine ran with all the other wiring and steering lines through the same hole so I installed a thru hull brass fitting in my splash well for my fuel hose.

Thank you-that looks great. What did you use to cover the fuel line? Haven’t seen that before either. Looks great and likely offers some protection as well.

I sell twine, netting and ropes and it’s basically a braided twine sample I received. I took the core out and fed it over the hose, shrink tubing on both ends. Glad I took the picture as I see the screw on the clamp is rusty and will drive my crazy now.
