    Gouge in rub rail

Got a gouge taken out of the rub rail near my bow on a dock last night. Is there any product I can use to fill in the defect? Not big enough to consider replacing the rail but still looks bad
    Thanks for any info

I remember my first dock gouge in the rub rail, made me sick to my stomach. Now they are just battle scars. Don't know of anything that will fix a gouge.

If it’s not too deep or missing too much material, you can sand it down and use solvent to even it out.

Good video. But what it is like a chunk the size of a dime?

Buy some black RTV silicone. Fill the gouge, lick you finger and smooth to match rub rail. Actually Post #2 is spot on. Boat now has character.

Won’t be the last if you use it. I say use it as an excuse to be less careful with it from now on, and when it gets worse than you can stand or you go to sell its new insert time.
