Arkansas' Reservoir Black Bass Management Plan: Public-Input Meetings

    From the AGFC:
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) is finalizing a process to develop a statewide Reservoir Black Bass Management Plan. This plan builds on the work of previous plans and incorporates all black bass stakeholders’ values. The Reservoir Black Bass Management Plan is designed to provide broad guidance on policies for addressing the complex management challenges and issues related to producing desirable fishing experiences for black bass in Arkansas’ lakes and reservoirs. The AGFC invites public input of the Reservoir Black Bass Management Plan. The plan is the result of the joint work of AGFC and a Stakeholder Advisory Committee (citizen volunteers who represent a cross-section of black bass fishing interests). The plan includes management goals that reflect stakeholder values, specific objectives designed to attain each goal, as well as potential general strategies for attaining objectives. The plan provides broad guidance for the AGFC Commissioners and AGFC staff for managing black bass in Arkansas’ lakes and reservoirs. The plan informs, but does not replace, the existing process for setting seasons and regulations. These public meetings are in an open house format so individuals can attend as long as they wish (there is no formal presentation).Eleven public meetings will be held across Arkansas on the following dates:August 8: 6:00-7:30 PM, Lonoke Chamber of Commerce, 102 Front Street NW, Lonoke, AR 72086

It appears the Arkansas game and fish need to take a field trip to some of the surrounding states like Texas or some of the northern states where 50- 100lb days and 20lb sacks are common and learn something.
