    Helix 8 Image

I am fairly new to using these fish finders. Based off this image is that a bunch of fish or a brush pile down there?

It is brush with some fish. Everything is exaggerated in size since the display is scrolling and you are stationary. The transducer is not a video camera.

There is no way to know what speed you were going during the history shown but, at the point of your screen capture, you were going way to slow to get any valid down imaging.

I was using spot lock on my trolling motor when I took the picture. Picture was taken yesterday.

For valid SI, DI, or 2D imaging of the bottom or structure, you need to be moving. Mega 360 is a great tool for imaging while sitting still because it does the moving for you.

It's called Overlay Digital Readouts. The GPS speed was .1mph (readout below the Depth). You can get that speed recorded when sitting still since the satellites move.
