Been boatless bank trash for the last five or so years. Picking up a 2006 185vx w/ 175 vmax. Anyone have any tips on what to watch out for? It’s my first non-procraft non-merc boat.

I had a 2004 185vx. 63-64 mph. Very steady fishing platform for a 18.5 boat. Great riding boat. V- max ran great. You will love it.

185 which reminds me is there a thread explaining Rangers numbering system?
ONC thanks for the encouragement. The little I’ve been in it has me really excited.
I hear the trailer axles have issues, read this thread...

Thanks. I do weld inspection. I’ll check mine out. It’s a single axle but they probably had some of the same people welding both.
Yep, and I think his name was Sling Blade! The welds on my trailer axle brackets had virtually zero penetration. The real issue was the Road-Armor hid the welds from view and most guys didn't know they had an issue until their axle uncoupled on the highway. Scary stuff!

Might be worth a few primer spots to check the integrity.
Might want to check where boat sits on trailer boards for hull blusters, I had them
