Changing prop pitch back to original pitch.

Picked up a used Trophy Plus in great shape for a good price. It was a 25 someone had repitched to a 24. Tried it this morning. With all vent holes plugged I can still blowout rolling over with about 4000 rpms. Running with two people I’m at about 5600. Think I saw 5700 solo. But very pleased with performance vs the Tempests I have. So as it gets cooler I’m worried this prop will be on the limiter when I do run WOT. Also the holeshot would have to be feathered even more by me. So can it be repitched back to original? I would think so but wasn’t sure if there is anything I should know? When I first bought the boat I ran a 25 Trophy once in October and I could only get 5400. But it ran great and I was brand new to the boat. So not quite sure what to expect if I can repitch to a 25.

Start by cutting pvs venting down, Wait until cooler temps to be sure it needs pitch change.

Does the Trophy have an exhaust ring installed? If not get one, put it on the prop then open up the PVS plugs. I am guessing you will need the exhaust ring and large PVS plugs.

Not sure but I don’t think I saw anything like that. It came just like this. So with this exhaust ring it would work in a way that I would need to remove some or all of the plugs? I had never heard of the exhaust ring.

And to 21 XDC that’s a good idea to wait and see how much the cooler weather actually affects it. I can send it in anytime.
    Thanks

I'm not a fan of the cav ring, Save that as the last resort.

Well isn’t that my last resort to prevent blowout? Because currently all four holes are plugged solid. I may not be understanding ?

If you have the PVS plugged solid and still getting blow out, then you need to add the ring and start opening up the PVS plugs. The ring is either a black plastic or aluminum. Get the aluminum as it stands up to the heat from the exhaust. Mark's Props sells them. Here is a Trophy with the plastic ring installed.

Yes. I thought your PVS plugs had open holes. Try the anti cavitation ring and open some PVS holes.
