    2019 190tx set up

I have a 2019 190tx. 2019 Mercury 115 4stroke (not proxs). I was on the forum earlier this year. Boat had bad chine walk at WOT. Went with a suggestion from a post. Bought a PowerTech 13.25 x 19P SS prop. I went to Tracker for a warranty issue and I told them the issue, they said the prop was to big and I should have a 12.5 x 22P prop. #1 that seems way to small. #2 even with the new prop, boat still chine walks really bad and I loose steering. Any suggestions? BTW Tracker said the motor should be flat on the transom. I think it needs to be raised 2 holes. More boat in the water less motor. Ideas?

I have a PT190 with the 115 ProXS. Stock with the three blade 21 pitch prop and motor flat on the transom the boat would "kick out" badly at 48 MPH/5500 RPM to the point of being dangerous. Following the recommendations of others I went with the 19 pitch X7 prop and raised it to the third hole. That completely changed the handling. I'm now hitting 49+ at 6200 RPM and it's rock solid with a 30% reduction in time to get on plane. I did try the stock three blade with the motor raised to the third hole just to see how the boat reacted. Poor handling and sluggish. Suitable in that configuration only as a spare prop to get me back to the landing.

You need to post more info to get some accurate suggestions here.

    3 or 4 blade?
Current RPM at wide open throttle?
    Current top speed?
What holes are the motor mounted on?

Photos of the motor mounted would be helpful. You also should probably measure PTP (prop to pad)
And you also should probably list the model prop you are running.

What do you mean the motor is flat on the transom? Are you referring to the cavitation plate resting perfectly to the bottom of the transom when it would be on plane?

Again, I need to know what hole the motor is bolted to. Your RPM is SUPER low in relation to where it needs to be. You need to be around 5800-5900 RPM

Your trim tab on the motor may be off, you will need to post a photo of that. The more photos you can post the better.

I need a better shot with the motor leveled out, cavitation plate parallel to the ground as if you were on plane.. you also need to measure prop to pad.

The fact you are on the first hole and it appears that the cav plate is directly in line with the very bottom of the transom is troubling, but before I go too far with that statement, you definitely need better shots and to get that prop to pad measurement first. Do you know how to measure that?

With no jack plate it works best with the motor in the 3rd hole from the top. Motor is way too low now, that is a good prop.

I fooled around with props, jack plates, engine heights on a Lowe 18HP and my current Ranger 188. I could never get more than 5200 with a 20 or 21 Laser on either boat. Changed to the Spitfire X7 and the boat came alive at hole #3. Just for grins, I'd ensure that the motor is mounted level. On my Lowe, the motor was canted 1/4" starboard.

I have the same prop you do and in the third hole I over Rev had to go to the 20p. Raising it one hole will do wonders and raise your rpms or go up to the third and put an x7 on it.

One of your pics showed some removed paint behind the sacrificial anode. Clear sign of over trim.
