Won’t run

Have a 2001 150 wont run unless you hold the key in the start position
any help would be greatly appreciated

bad key switch

Need model number off of engine.

See if you have key on power on yellow wire coming out of key switch.

Switch has 2 yellows and both have 12 volts

Do you hear electric fuel pump come on when key is turned on?

Unplug main harness under cowling. Turn key to on position and check continuity between white and black wire.

Installed new key switch and harness still does the same runs when key is held in start position

I'm wondering if you are losing power to ECU when key is in run position. I'll have to do some digging to find which wire to test.
