9 Live VS 12 Live for Active Target

I currently run my AT on a 9 Live and with my old eyes find my self constantly bending over to get a good look. Any opinions on if the 12 Live is that much better? Does the 9 and 12 have the same resolution just bigger screen?

Bigger screen for sure. Resolution is slightly different.

HDS Live 9 is 1280x720 and the HDS Live 12 is 1280x 800.

The 12 is a bit easier to see thought as your screen is bigger. You can't go wrong going with the 12 that's for sure.

This ^^^^^ I totally agree with this assessment and it's the route I went and am very happy to have done so!

I upgraded as well, boat came with 9" on bow at AT - I upgraded to Live 12 within the month. For me, the 9" was just too small for my 55+ eyes. I kept the 9" and use for map and 2D alongside the 12, but want to upgrade it also :).

Hey Marc, I have always appreciated your comments and knowledge in the past. I was thinking of somehow trading/selling my Live 9 at the bow for a 12 Carbon. I have a stowaway mount that gets the 9 close to my eyes. What will I lose going to a Carbon? I have a Ghost and an AT and I don't have enough real-estate to switch back and forth from the AT to the charts, I split them at times but it's too small.

I have 2 carbon units, one 9" and a 12" mounted on a Precision Sonar mount. Love it. AT runs on the 12" so I can see it clearly. Maps and 2d sonar on the 9" . Older you get more size matters.

Just got a Live 12 for the same reason. Makes a world of difference going from a 9 to a 12.
    No regrets !!!
