    Waterfront tent camping

Hello All! Does anyone have any ideas for waterfront camping from east of Tallahassee to The Keys? Specifically looking for places where I can beach the boat right at camp, have a small fire and mind my own business. Freshwater or saltwater. I used to go to Blue Cypress back when Joe still owned the store; heard the newer owner can be unwelcoming now.

    Any ideas?

Kissimmee River, there are spots between Hatchineha and Kissimmee.
They're primitive, you bring it, enjoy it, take it with you, nothing more.
You'd have access to the entire chain, four lakes, one lock at Toho.

Want something nicer, there's a county campground on Hatchineha.
Water and electric. RVs & tents. It's small. Nice ramp, docks for tie up.
Restaurant & bar on the waterfront at the point, very short walk to it.

Camping is one deep, backed up to the canal, north side of the road.
One end of camping area is laundry/bathrooms, other end the Port.
$20/day for camping, utilities are included, along with bathing access.

You're welcome. Dollar General about 2.5 miles from ramp. Otherwise, it's a 25-30 minute drive to "civilization".
Hatchineha is a very good lake, don't overlook it. Caught 10# bass off my dock, plenty of 5-6# fish, specks, etc.

I'd suggest the campground. Water, electric, high & dry, paved all the way, nice ramp and dock the entire canal.
Want to go, get a reservation, number in link. Killer tackle shop in Lake Wales, about 45 minutes, Candy Store.
Civilization (25-30 minutes) offers dining, Super WM, Publix, Lowe's, ABC Liquor & much more. Choices galore.

Halfway between Hatchineha and Kissimmee, on the river, you'll find Camp Mack. They have a marina gas pump.
And they do have bait, small tackle selection, drinks, snacks, etc. Let me know if you have any questions at all.

Oh yeah ... primitive spots are free, find one, take one. Don't find one, Oops! Permits issued by the gators there.

Yes. And it's actually a very nice campground. Beaches are good too.
There are two piers as well, bay and gulf. Plus the old fort structure.

Honeymoon Island is better, they have a dog wash station. No sand when you load up.

Was at Indian Rocks Beach for a week this past June and we made the drive up to Honeymoon Island a couple of days. Really nice beach and the visitors centers/restrooms were nicer than most. And yes, that dog wash came in handy too!
